Xiaomi to Officially Launch in Pakistan

Xiaomi has finally got NOC from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to be launched in Pakistan. Smart Link Technologies will be the official and authorized partner of Xiaomi in Pakistan. In an advertisement, appeared in daily newspapers in Pakistan, Smart Link Technologies said that it is going to launch the smartphone of Xiaomi in Pakistan.

Two times Xiaomi was launched in Pakistan at the start of the year 2016. First Mi Pakistan, an unofficial retailer in Pakistan, launched the few products of Xiaomi. Later on, Cheez Mall officially launched the smartphones and some accessories of Xiaomi. However, later on, PTA totally banned the smartphones of Xiaomi. Then it was banned because PTA claimed that Xiaomi was allegedly stealing user’s data and sharing it to servers located in China. PTA then ordered the Pakistan-based dealer of Xiaomi not to sell Xiaomi smartphones in the country.

Now after getting the approval from PTA, Xiaomi products will be launched by Smart Link Technologies. In addition to smartphones, other eco-friendly products will also be launched such as Car Charger, Mi Band 2, Mi VR and Power Banks. According to officials of Smart Link Technologies, all these products will be available at competitive along with the official warranty.

The products were expected to launch at the start of January 2017. But due to some issues, it will be launched in February 2017.

NADRA Smart ID Card to Soon Work as EPayment Card Like MasterCard

MasterCard and Visa Card are those two plastic money payment forms that are considered as the international and generally acceptable payment forms. According to MasterCard, it is going to collaborate with NADRA Technologies to bring e-payment system in Pakistan. There will be something new that will be collaboratively launched by MasterCard and NADRA as the new CNICs (SmartCard) will be used for making domestic and international payments.

During 2017 World Economic Forum, MasterCard has announced that soon the e-payment system will be launched in Pakistan that will work with NADRA Smart ID Cards only. Those holding new designed or SIM based ID cards in Pakistan will get this service. The new service will allow them to maintain the record of all their financial transactions and even receive the disbursements (grants, scholarships, financial aids, etc.) directly from the government. The 13-digit CNIC number will act as the unique account number of the customer.

After the merger of this new service in the current SmartCard, card holds will make the e-payments to conduct both domestic and international payments as well. This will set aside the requirement of visiting the bank for carrying physical transaction to transfer or exchange money.

According to MasterCard, “Our collaboration with Nadra is a testament to our commitment towards building a reliable and secure ecosystem for online payments in Pakistan. The new service will make international remittances more convenient both for the sender and beneficiary. This is significant since Pakistan is one of the top receivers of remittances from abroad. Combining the national identity card with payment features will transform it into a powerful, multi-purpose channel for citizens to carry out financial transactions, and will facilitate faster and more efficient delivery of vital government services.”

According to an economist, this will bring the new door of opportunities for Pakistanis because it will systemize their financial life in addition to making them able to make domestic and international payments without even visiting any financial institute.

NetSol’s startup incubator ‘NSpire’ opens applications for its second incubation cycle

NetSol’s startup incubator ‘NSpire’, which was launched around an year back has started accepting applications for its second incubation cycle.

First ever batch of ‘NSpire’ which started its journey year back will be graduating in September this year.

For the second incubation cycle NetSol has announced 5th October, 2016 as a last date. The Final merit list of the shortlisted will be placed on 14th of November this year.

There are many incubators in Pakistan who supports the local community and young generations for business. They not only guide them with ideas and advises but also give financial support. They have solved the problem of funding and management guidelines. There are about more than 27 incubators in Pakistan. Now Netsol Pakistan is going to launch its own incubator named “Nspire” that will help local entrepreneurs to grow up.

The aim behind “NSpire” is to promote the startups to have global success. NetSol is a big brand and is listed in NASDAQ. It depends upon its own  credentials to promote startups.

Pakistani startups have proven themselves by implementing their ideas successfully. There is not the shortage of technical knowledge and hands in Pakistan. Many of businessmen started their business from thousands and now they have grown up to Arabs. There are two issues for startups and younger’s for setting up their business. First one is funding & investment and second is the art of managing the business.

5G soon to be launched in Pakistan, says Ahsan Iqbal

Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal while taking to the event ‘Pakistan StartUP Cup’ said that the government is planning to launch 5th generation soon to ensure the fastest connectivity across the country.

Ahsan Iqbal also claimed that western countries consider Pakistan as ideal place for investing now and also told about his leadership roles from taking country out from horrible terrorism crisis.

At the same time those who are satisfied with 3G-4G should think twice as 2020 is the year of launch of 5G, and surprisingly Pakistan might be one of the first countries to test latest technology 5G.

Earlier, Pakistani Minister for IT, Anusha Rehman, confirmed with ProPakistani that they are putting in efforts to get 5G testing before anywhere else.

If that happens it will be a great news for the Pakistan to hand the latest technology before the anyone in the world, and for sure it will be taking things to the whole new standard.

On the other hand, Zong cane be the one to get hands on to the 5G as it seems showing some interest to be part of the IMT Advanced Group, which is a group of early operators and vendors who will be testing the 5G services at first in 2020 after its launch.

3 ways to open blocked sites in Pakistan

Dozens of sites are not accessible for viewership in Pakistan that is because government has blocked them. The reasons behind blocking them can be vary. But in general that are blocked as they may contain controversial, blasphemous, or sexually explicit content in it.

Earlier, You Tube was blocked for containing blasphemous content, but later on after negotiation and a long ban government set up having negotiations with Google-owned You Tube, following which they unleashed separate You Tube for viewership in Pakistan.

As like You Tube, there are many sites which tech experts think can be benefit Pakistanis, so keeping that in view we are telling you three ways to open blocked websites in Pakistan.

Use Online Proxy Websites

This is one of the easiest methods as when you need to open blocked websites you can go on this site and can paste the URL of the site you are willing to see. This method is as easy as clicking, and you just have to place web address in the site and that will be working as mediator between you and the blocked site.

Here are the proxy sites, you can use to open banned sites:

  1. 12345proxy.pk
  2. hiload.org
  3. speedyproxy.co.uk
  4. goproxing.com
  5. unblockyoutube.org
  6. proxfree.com
  7. vidproxy.com
  8. sslunblocker.com

Use Software

First you need to download this, but once you are done with this you don’t need to put URL or web address again and again for going on blocked websites. By installing it you will browse as you do normally and the blocked sites will be opened automatically with it.

Here are some of the software you can use for opening blocked websites:

Using HTTPS

You can use HTTPS instead of HTTP, for instance if Facebook is banned so you can type the URL as https://www.facebook.com rather than http://www.facebook.com which would be blocked at that time.
