Sindh Government announces 3-days holiday over Chehlum Imam Hussain and LG polls

Third and the last phase of Local elections is scheduled to be held on 5th December, in six of the districts of Sindh polls will also be held on the day. Prior to that, on 3rd December Chehlum of Hazrat  Imam Hussain will be  observed. Keeping all it in view the Sindh Government called for a holiday from 3-5 December to all the educational institutes (Government and private).

It must be noted that on 3rd November, which is the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain is declared as the public holiday by Sindh Government.

And up the latest Secretary Sindh Education Fazlullah Pechuchu today announced that all the educational institutes will remain closed on December 4 and 5 on account of Local Government polls in the metropolis.

Here it is pertinent to mention here that 3rd phase of LG polls include six districts of Sindh, namely, Karachi West, Karachi East, Karachi South, Karachi Central, Korangi and Malir. And to avoid any untoward incident on the day Rangers and police are high alert and other security personnel are also deployed. Moreover, Sindh Government has also allowed a two-day ban on pillion riding, which will be affecting from tomorrow (Wednesday 10:00 pm).

With this announcement, it makes 3-days holiday for the educational institutes as 3rd November is the Public Holiday in Sindh in reverence of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s Chehlum.

Another notification issued by Government of Sindh Labour & Human Resources Department states that all the workers in the Province Sindh will be getting  the holiday on 5th Decembers to use their right to vote.
